lily a. is 26 years old. she lives in a house with her boyfriend and two furry friends. in december 2007 the family received a little addition in the form of a baby isla. both lily and her boyfriend are ecstatic.

lily studies at local school in an all-girl class. she thinks she has finally found the right career path. the local town is not very big, but has everything lily and boyfriend need. it is also a good place for raising a child.

the house is not completely finished, but life is just as difficult as you make it. lily likes living in a house that changes all the time, even if it means that dishes must be washed in the bathroom.

before moving to this house in this town, lily a. was quite unhappy and her life was making unexpected twists and turns. she was unsure of what she wanted and how to pull out of the grey mist of incapability that surrounded her. for several years she had known that a change was needed, but didn't know how to find what to change or how to change it. many wise men and even more wise books said that moving to another place would only make things worse. they said that the problems would follow and everything would feel even gloomier because there was nothing familiar to surround oneself with. boyfriend and lily decided to move anyway and it made all the difference.

lily on the inside

lily a. likes to spend time at home. she finds it hard to sosialize and gets very tired when she needs to do so. she prefers quiet to music and dark to light. she loves rain because it makes all the colors softer outside and prefers not to go out when the sun is at its peak, because it hurts her eyes. lily likes details and doesn't really get big concepts on the whole. she finds timetables comforting and is lost when no one tells her what to do and when. she prefers being very active, but often gets stuck in a chair just staring ahead and thinking of life.

lily a. has asperger's syndrome.

it defines what she is from inside. she gets tired of social situations easily, because it takes so much energy from her to understand all the hidden meanings and hinted underlying reasons in the casual talk. she doesn't understand gestures, facial expressions or the tones of voice very well. she always knows how people are feeling and it confuses her when they try to cover it up. she doesn't understand why people don't speak directly and honestly but rather deny their hurt feelings. in lily's opinion life would be much easier if everyone would discuss what the problems are and how to fix them right away instead of stalking away and assuming that the other person knows why they are angry.

lily also has a tendency to sensory overloads. her brains take in too much information and cause her to melt down. this often happens when lily goes shopping for example. too many people, too many cars and too high noise level make her irritated at first and if she doesn't leave then, she quickly goes to a near panic. she wants to put hands on her ears and tell everyone to go away and leave her alone. on some days lily can be extremely ticklish. this means that no one can touch her, not even boyfriend. on the other hand she has a very high pain level. little things like body piercings don't hurt her at all and she has to be really sick before she actually realises that she needs to go to the hospital.

lily has always known that she is different from most people. she has known that in some weird ways her brains are built differently and that she experiences things differently. she has never felt that it would be a negative thing. it is the only way she knows how to exist. when she found out about her diagnosis many things suddenly made sense. she was relieved to find out that she hadn't been doing things wrong all this time, she wasn't even supposed to do them in the same way as everyone else. her self esteem quickly got better when she realised that she had been judging herself against the wrong scale. in some things she would never match the "normal" people, but in others she would surpass them easily.

at the moment lily a. is confident and happy with herself. she thinks she is quite witty and funny and she likes to make people laugh. she has calmed down immensely from her wild teenage years and she likes the change. she is still very passionate about certain issues close to her heart, but she has learned to express herself better. she is very emotional, some doctors have said that she is over-emotional, but she is not afraid of crying in public. she trusts her first impressions completely, because they have never proved wrong. she has a big heart and she wears it on her sleeve.

lily on the outside

lily a. is short and round. now she is even rounder because of post-pregnancy fat. she was in the process of getting back to shape, but the baby has postponed that slightly. she is just beginning to gte back into her weight training routine. lily a. has almost always been round. she hasn't necessarily been huge, but she has always had meat on her bones. once she has managed to diet and exercise her way into her ideal weight, but the problems in her head made her eat and she gained everything back that she had lost. now she is determined to change her lifestyle back to a healthy one.

lily a. has naturally mousy brown hair, which she colors dark brown, black or red. she has only been to a hairdresser once in her life and has sported the same long straight do for most of her life, sometimes with bangs, mostly without. she likes her hair long but secretly hopes she would have guts to cut it into a geometrical bob. she thinks it might suit her. lily's eyes are green, her lips are full and her nose wide (or so she thinks). her boyfriend thinks she is pretty, but she herself thinks she is much more interesting personality-wise than appearance-wise.

lily has several piercings, 6 to be exact. they are located in her nose, labret (that is below lower lip), tongue, tragus & ears (3 altogether). She used to have a pierced bellybutton and left nipple also, but the bellybutton piercing began to grow out and she took the nipple piercing away when she found out that she was pregnant. She really wants her bellybutton pierced anew and more piercings in her ears, but they will have to wait for a while. lily has no tattoos, but she wishes she could decide what kind of tattoo she wanted and get it done.

lily is a very opinionated and outspoken. she isn't afraid to voice her opinions to anyone and doesn't really look up to people because of their status. that makes her sometimes not very well liked. she wouldn't seem anti-social and socially-challenged at first, because she is very friendly and talkative. she is very good at faking her social skills. she really likes to hang around with people like most of us, but sometimes she just isn't up for it and that is when the anti-social side kicks in and she might spend weeks at home after school without contacting anyone but her immediate family. most of the time lily smiles and laughs a lot, but even though she looks happy many people have told her that she isn't very easy to approach. lily doesn't know why, but thinks it might be the underlying anti-social streak that some people subconciously detect.
